In 2007, Old Friend was started by Seth Neefus when he was living in Portland, OR. He was deeply immersed in the art and music scene and documented the sounds they created together with an old tape player. He called this musical sketchbook "Old Friend". In the winter of 2011, Seth Neefus moved to his hometown of Hudson, NY and reunited with some old friends, and formed this project into a band.
